WILL IT BE POSSIBLE TO BUILD ENTIRE CITIES USING RENEWABLE MATERIALS?

A GLOBAL GATHERING TO TRANSFORM THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR

The conference aims to connect Brazilian and international wood industries with globally recognized experts, showcasing innovative and sustainable solutions. At the end, a document with global guidelines for the responsible use of wood in construction will be developed and presented at COP30 in Belém do Pará, in 2025.

Why discuss the future of wood construction?

Wood construction emerges as a sustainable and innovative solution, capable of combining development and responsibility. By ensuring legality, balanced distribution, and positive social impact in the use of resources, we promote ethical and efficient practices. The transition to a low-carbon model gains momentum with incentives and financial instruments, strengthening the role of wood in sustainability. At the same time, inclusive and ethical global policies reinforce environmental and social justice, while research and new technologies drive innovation in the sector.

Discussing these topics is essential to building a greener, fairer, and more balanced future.

Are we ready to harness the full potential of our native forests in a sustainable way?

GUIDELINES FOR COP30

The main legacy of this conference will be a document with global guidelines for the sustainable use of wood in construction, which will be presented at COP30 – United Nations Climate Change Conference.

The goal is to promote a fair and sustainable market, with a direct impact on mitigating climate change and reducing CO2 emissions in the construction sector.

A renewable solution for the construction industry

With the construction sector responsible for over 40% of global CO2 emissions, wood emerges as a renewable alternative, as highlighted by the UN's IPCC. However, challenges such as informality in the native wood market and dependence on monocultures must be overcome for tropical countries like Brazil to take a leading position in the global market.
